“Our students succeed because we refuse to let them fail,” said Mrs. Lois Powell, Strawberry Mansion High School’s principal, who committed an hour of her time explaining her students’ many achievements. From trophies, to artwork, to academic awards, I could see the passion she held for the students’ achievements. She explained the school’s many programs geared towards their educational growth as well as personal and social growth. Programs such as Mentally Gifted Program, the Mock Trial Team and the ELECT/Mars Program for teen mothers. There are different areas students are 
able to participate in including arts, law, science, athletics, etc.
As we walked down the corridor. I found my eyes tracing the walls filled with vibrant colored murals. I was met by an exhibit filled with President Obama‘s posters containing his key values. Ahead I immediately fixed my eyes upon what seemed to be Martin Lluther King Jr. It was a mural of the Civil Rights and its key players.

The doors open into a place where the staff is dedicated to their students' achievements. Strawberry Mansion High School ranked No. 1 AYP, Adequate Yearly Progress, three years in a row. They also 
ranked No. 1 in the High School Region PSSA.

Strawberry Mansion High School truly dedicates itself to the students of North Philadelphia. The students want to come to a place where they are challenged as well as rewarded for their hardwork and dedication to academia and higher learning.
