Sunday morning, we filmed our next project and were able to see locals on their way to church wearing formal attire. However, the church followers didn’t have time to speak since most of them were already late to church service. We learned from most locals that we spoke to that they hated trash thrown carelessly on the ground. Most wished everyone would clean up after their selves. One lady we spoke to, who moved there a few weeks ago, says it gives the neighborhood a bad image. Another woman believes the city spends more time beautifying Center City than the surrounding neighborhoods. After one interview, we noticed a black homeless cat sneaking out from behind the bushes. This gave us an idea for a story for our next assignment, “Tell the Mayor.” Through out Logan there are a large number of stray cats walking around. It seems like there is at least one on every corner. This could be a very interesting topic to investigate. We didn’t see any other stray animals around Logan, only cats. It would be interesting to gather information on the large population of homeless cats. One house that we constantly walk by has several cats lying on the porch. Not sure if the house is abandoned, so we figure it would be worth the while to see another day. Knowing that the PSPCA is not far from Logan or Feltonville we plan on visiting the organization in hope to gain more information on homeless cats.
