Over the next couple of days weather forecasts are calling for large amounts of snow fall in the Philadelphia area. A report on philly.com is saying eight to twelve inches of snow will be on the ground when the winter storm is over and done with.
Just like every other snow storm, people are heading to their local grocery store to stock up on the essential supplies such as milk, bread, and eggs.
In Susquehanna, a Pathmark grocery store was filled with people loading their shopping carts filled with food. When I asked Pathmark employee John Garrafa how the traffic was in the store he said, “It’s getting busy in here, it’s picking up, you can tell.”
Garaffa works in the dairy department and took on the tough task of making sure the milk, bread, and eggs were always available to the shoppers. He joked that he was definitely getting his workout in for the day by making sure the shelves were stocked at all times.
Punxsutawney Phil‘s February 2nd prediction is now coming to fruition, six more weeks of winter. Although the snow makes it hard for people to get from place to place, Garaffa says, “at least it is good for business.”
