Elmer Clark is a resident of Carroll Park for five years now. Mister Clark works as a photographer and sees a lot of potential in the neighborhood, but also feels that there is a lot that needs to be done.
“Hopefully the city will do more developing in the area,” Elmer Clark said. “Right now this neighborhood is in transition and it’s not necessarily a positive transition.”
“The city is trying to do some things,” Clark continues. “There are a few repainting projects going on and some major businesses have moved in the area.”
One of the problems Mister Clark sees within the transition of the community is the fact that many residents of Carroll Park are older.
“A lot of the residents are homeowners, but they are older and that makes it really hard to keep up and upgrade the housing,” Elmer Clark said. “Just as the residents, the houses are old too so it takes a lot in terms of repair and refurbishing.”
