North Central Philadelphia: Faith Tabernacle Mutchmore Memorial Baptist Church


Shirley Dreakward is the secretary of the Faith Tabernacle Mutchmore Memorial Baptist Church, located on Montgomery and Bouvier Streets at 1728-34 West Montgomery Avenue. The church is welcoming to all, with a motto of, "The Church for everyone with a welcome for all."


The church has many different ministries including worship service, children's church, church school and vacation bible school. Bible study is offered to its members every Thursday at both noon and 7pm. There is also the Guiding Light Missionary Society, which reaches out to the local community by caring for the sick and elderly.



Other ministries within the church include the music ministry and the education committee. The education committee funds college-bound students each year with a scholarship through the E. Theodore Lewis Memorial Scholarship Fund, which was established as a memorial to the church's late Pastor and Founder.



The church offers a unique ministry called the Singles ministry, which connects singles in the community to help one another in their faith. There are numerous othe rministries, including Trustee Aides, Ushers Ministry, Courtesy Committee, Everready Helpers and more.

Since 1991, Pastor Ashe has worked as a community activist through the Faith Tabernacle Mutchmore Memorial Baptist Church. The church welcomes everyone and anyone and offer a variety of community events in North Central Philadelphia.
