On the 200 block of Westmoreland Street in Philadelphia, residents have voiced their concern about a pothole located on the street sidewalk. The problem has been brought to city officials’ attention, but the hole has been lingering for a year and still nothing has been done.
With heavy snowfall and not much time and appropriate manpower to take action in fixing the pothole problem, the city of Philadelphia is getting a bad reputation among residents. People living on the 200 block of Westmoreland Street are especially angry because the hole in the street has created an inconvenience, as well as presented safety hazards to everyone who passes.
The block captain, Carmel Morales, has hope that once the snow is cleared and city operations are back in order that they too will be able to go back to living a normal life in their North
“With the city delaying repair, we are forced to deal with the situation and it’s not a fun thing to have to see people get hurt and have our block be in the condition that it is”, said Carmen Morales of 232 E. Westmoreland Street.
