The inside of the store
, has a clean and open feel promoting a sanitary atmosphere for tattoos. Owner Edward Denny known to the tattoo world as Sailor Eddie is originally from New Jersey and has been tattooing for 39 years. His body and face is covered with tattoos and piercings but his inviting smile and boisterous laugh would make anyone feel right at home.Sailor Eddie prides himself on his work and keeps his tattoos affordable to bring in business. With over 60 other tattoo shops in the city, competition is high, but Sailor Eddies biggest problem right now are tattoo parties.
“They can work for $10 or $20 because they don’t have any over head.” He said. “There is not a whole lot we can do because the time we find out about it, the tattoo parties are done and over with.”
Sailor Eddie comes from a family of tattoo artists and understands the importance of the quality of work. He also wants his art to be available and affordable to everyone.
“If you come in with a college id,” Sailor Eddie said. “I’ll take care of you!”
