Each are threaded at the highest quality and are perfect to throw on for a game. Assistant Manager of the Philadelphia store, Aaron Joel, explained how important Mitchell and Ness is to the sports world and its customers.
"There's alot of history in this company," said Joel. "People know we're all about quality and giving the customer something they can't find anymore or something they know they would love to have and know they couldn't get anywhere else. If Mitchell and Ness decided to stop making jerseys there would be a big hole in the sports world."
Mitchell and Ness, established in 1904, is the oldest sporting goods company in Philadelphia. It was founded by Frank P. Mitchell and Charles M. Ness. Mitchell and Ness sold mainly golfing and tennis equipment at first, but then decided to specialize in uniform sales where the business began to grow. Whether on the high school level or professionally, Mitchell and Ness became a familiar brand to people around the Philadelphia area. Teams like the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Athletics both went to Mitchell and Ness for their uniforms during the 1930's.

Today Mitchell and Ness sells jerseys for not only the NFL and MLB, but for the NBA and NHL as well. They also sell a wide variety of fitted hats and hoodies which have become popular recently among buyers. Sales have expanded from the local level to worldwide where many celebrities and athletes such as actor Terrance Howard and rap artist Rick Ross have been seen buying threads. Joel also explained how even though Mitchell and Ness has spread its sales worldwide, it still holds a strong connection at the local level.
"We had a customer in today who told us about how when he was a little kid playing baseball, Mitchell and Ness used to make his uniform. We have a lot of customers who have been with us for a long time...almost every customer who's been with us for more than ten years has a story."
