Strawberry Mansion: Afternoon Tea Raising Money

On Friday, December 3rd, the Historic Society of Strawberry Mansion will  hold its second annual "Holiday Afternoon Tea." The event - in place to help raise funds for the Historic Strawberry Mansion Geothermal Climate Control Project - will consist of a silent auction, afternoon tea service prepared by Stephen STARR events and live music.

Those responsible for this year's event are expecting a larger turnout than last year. As a result, "we won't be doing the serving ourselves this year," one said. "There just won't be enough man - or should I say woman - power."

The event is scheduled to start at noon and run until 3:00 p.m, but those interested in the silent auction are encouraged to arrive a half-hour early. Among the items available for auction according to the event's website, are "antiques and vintage items."

For those interested, the event is being held at the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center at the corners of North Horticultural Drive and Montgomery Avenue in West Fairmount Park.
